Fumigation silos for Grain Corp’s Geelong terminal

GrainCorp employs fumigation as a critical component of its Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy to safeguard stored grain from pests, insects, and rodents.

In 2022, Gordon McKay completed the installation of new fumigation silos at GrainCorp’s Geelong Terminal in Victoria. This turnkey project involved designing, constructing and commissioning of new control and process technology within operational hazardous zones, ensuring seamless integration with existing grain handling equipment without disrupting operations. The project involved redirecting existing grain loading and unloading equipment to three new 1,500T and two 500T fumigation silos whilst minimising any disruption to ongoing operations.

This project highlighted Gordon McKay’s technical and project capacity to work within fully operational hazardous zoned areas.
