Our history

Celebrating Gordon McKay’s history and milestones

Gordon McKay was established in 1953 when Gordon McKay (founder) was contracted to install power supplies to farming communities around Geelong in Victoria’s south-west. Agriculture was the engine room of the regional economy but electricity was driving change.

The post-war industrial boom ensured the steady growth of Gordon’s business. More than six decades on, Gordon McKay is one of the largest privately-owned electrical companies in Australia.

Our highly qualified team of dedicated industrial electricians and specialist technicians have extensive experience across a wide range of industry sectors, delivering project and electrical maintenance services to a global client base.
