Apprentice of the year

Gordon McKay would like to congratulate our 4th Year Apprentice Clodagh Ridgeway on taking out the people’s choice Apprentice of the year award at the AEN Awards night held at Melbourne Town Hall.

The AEN Awards recognise excellence among apprentices, trainees, group training organisations (GTOs), host employers, industry contributions.

Ensuring diversity in an industry that has skill shortages like the Electrical trade’s encourages diversity to help fill critical roles, bring different perspectives, fresh ideas where women in trades like Clodagh help shape the way for women that want to feel inclusive in a trade.

Clodagh mentioned that from a young age, she was drawn to the world of trades, inspired by weekends spent on construction sites alongside her dad.

That early exposure to teamwork, discipline and ultimately building complex systems sparked her curiosity and ultimately led Clodagh to an apprenticeship in Electrotechnology.

Gordon McKay would also like to thank gforce employment & Recruitment for their hard work and dedication in which they support the Apprentices in their schooling & achievements and allowing us to train and upskill many young people like Clodagh.
