Avalon Airport infrastructure development

As part of Avalon Airport’s strategic development in recent years, Avalon Airport has received substantial investment to enhance its infrastructure.

A key component of this development is the delivery of high-voltage electricity, gas, water, fibre optics, and communications infrastructure. This investment aims to support the establishment of a 40-hectare industrial precinct on the site, facilitating Avalon Airport’s potential to become a major industrial and commercial jobs hub.

Gordon McKay project team successfully project managed the expansion of Avalon Airport’s high voltage electrical system, encompassing the design of the earth grid, the supply, installation, termination, testing, and inspection of the high voltage transformer and electrical cabling. This high voltage infrastructure upgrade was crucial for enabling clients like Australia Post to develop a 14,000 sqm with a capacity to process 60,000 parcels per day and Petstock to build a new 32,000 sqm regional office, distribution centre and training hub within the new Avalon Airport industrial hub.
