Evaporative dryer processing plant

In 2022, Bellarine Foods opened an advanced evaporative drying plant dedicated to producing up to 60,000 litres daily of high-quality whey powder.

The Bellarine Foods plant features state-of-the-art technology, including thermalisation, chiller, ultra-filtration, nano-filtration, dryer, evaporator, and a packing plant.

Gordon McKay was responsible for the complete electrical and process control wiring installation at the milk powdering facility. This encompassed the installation of all power and process control wiring, the design and installation of the cable support network and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) mounting system, instrumentation installation, ASI control system implementation, all cabling and final terminations, commissioning, and quality assurance.

Gordon McKay’s skilled employees supplied and installed stainless-steel food-grade motor isolators and control cabinets; all rated to IP66. Their expertise was particularly crucial for the installations undertaken within the facility’s hazardous zoned areas.
